Familiarisation tour in Kerala
 God’s
own country…
After the Prithvi seminar, Megan and Alexandre
went on a short familiarisation trip to the main attractions
of Kerala, and we would like to thank the people and organisations
who made our stay very interesting.
  We
would like to thank Mr Manoj from the department of ecotourism
and his director Mr Mohanlal who arranged the visit of Thenmala
Ecotourism project as well as a meeting with the forest
officials running the Periyar
Tiger reserve and the
zero-waste program.
 We
also would like to thank cgh
earth, which organised our stay and visit of some of their
establishments. We have been very impressed by the efforts
made by this company towards a responsible tourism, particularly
their water and waste treatment plants.
Similarly we thank tour
India, for their houseboat excursion on the backwater
as well as Somatheeram,
for their glimpse of ayurveda. Tour India is well known ecotourism
operator which has first introduced houseboat on the backwaters
as well as tree houses in Kerala, and Somatheeram is a well
known ayurveda beach resort.
